Mission Statement

At the House of Hope Ministries, we are more than just a place of worship; we are a community that welcomes individuals from all walks of life with open arms. We are a non-denominational church that is located in the town of Pax, West Virginia. Our church serves as a spiritual home for residents and visitors alike. Our mission statement encapsulates the very essence of our congregation’s purpose, reflecting our commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of those we encounter.

Our primary aim is to serve as a beacon of hope within our community. In a world filled with challenges and uncertainties, we believe it is essential to offer a source of inspiration, encouragement, and unwavering support. The House of Hope Ministries seeks to be that guiding light, providing a safe haven where people can find peace, discover purpose, and experience the transformative power of God.

Central to our mission is the profound love of God. We believe that this love is the cornerstone of our faith and the driving force behind everything we do. Through our teachings, worship services, and ministry, we aim to convey this love to all who cross our path. It is through the understanding and acceptance of God’s love that lives are transformed, and individuals find the strength to overcome obstacles and forge meaningful connections.

Faith, fellowship, and service are the pillars upon which we build our ministry. We encourage our members and visitors to deepen their faith, develop authentic relationships within our church family, and actively engage in service to our community. By fostering these three core elements, we create a nurturing environment that empowers individuals to grow spiritually, emotionally, and socially.

Statement of Faith

  • We affirm the Bible as God’s inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word, revealing His love for humanity. (References: 1 Thessalonians 2:13; 2 Timothy 3:15-17; John 3:16)
  • We acknowledge one God, eternally existing in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. (References: Matthew 28:19; John 10:30; Ephesians 4:4-6)
  • We profess the divinity of Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, sacrificial death on the cross, bodily resurrection, ascension to the Father’s right hand, and His imminent return in power and glory. (References: Matthew 1:23; John 1:1-4 and John 1:29; Acts 1:11 and Acts 2:22-24; Romans 8:34; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Philippians 2:5-11; Hebrews 1:1-4 and Hebrews 4:15)
  • We acknowledge that all humanity is lost and faces God’s judgment, with salvation found only through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ, resulting in regeneration by the Holy Spirit. Additionally, we believe that God rewards the righteous with eternal life in heaven and condemns the unrighteous to everlasting punishment in hell. (References: Luke 24:46-47; John 14:6; Acts 4:12; Romans 3:23; 2 Corinthians 5:10-11; Ephesians 1:7 and Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:4-7)
  • We affirm the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, who indwells believers and empowers them to live godly lives. (References: John 3:5-8; Acts 1:8 and Acts 4:31; Romans 8:9; 1 Corinthians 2:14; Galatians 5:16-18; Ephesians 6:12; Colossians 2:6-10)
  • We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost: the saved to eternal life and the lost to eternal punishment. (References: 1 Corinthians 15:51-57; Revelation 20:11-15)
  • We affirm the spiritual unity of believers in Jesus Christ, recognizing all true believers as members of His body, the Church. (References: 1 Corinthians 12:12, 27; Ephesians 1:22-23)
  • We acknowledge that the ministry of evangelism (proclaiming salvation through faith in Jesus Christ) and discipleship (assisting followers in their spiritual growth) is the responsibility of all followers of Jesus. (References: Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 1:8; Romans 10:9-15; 1 Peter 3:15)
  • We believe in the power of healing and deliverance through faith in Jesus Christ, acknowledging His ability to bring physical, emotional, and spiritual wholeness to those in need. (References: Mark 16:17-18; James 5:14-15; Luke 4:18)
  • We uphold God’s plan for human sexuality to be expressed within the bounds of marriage, defined as the union of one man and one woman. We believe this institution is foundational to the family and the fundamental structure of society. (References: Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:5-6; Mark 10:6-9; Romans 1:26-27; 1 Corinthians 6:9)
  • We commit ourselves to prayer, serving the Lord, submitting to His authority, and engaging in evangelism. (References: Matthew 9:35-38, Matthew 22:37-39, and Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 1:8; Romans 10:9-15 and Romans 12:20-21; Galatians 6:10; Colossians 2:6-10; 1 Peter 3:15)
  • We affirm the sanctity of human life from conception to its natural end and express concern for the physical and spiritual needs of others. (References: Psalm 139:13; Isaiah 49:1; Jeremiah 1:5; Matthew 22:37-39; Romans 12:20-21; Galatians 6:10)
